These Terms & Conditions apply to coaching and related services provided by Open Gate Coaching, operated by Charlotte Labalette (“I”, “me” or “the Coach”).
By booking or participating in a coaching session provided by Open Gate Coaching, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Where services are arranged or paid for by an organisation, these Terms & Conditions apply alongside any specific written agreement between Open Gate Coaching and that organisation.
Open Gate Coaching provides coaching and wellbeing services to individuals and organisations. Services may include:
The specific service, format, number and length of sessions, fees and any other arrangements will be agreed before the service begins.
I reserve the right to decline a coaching engagement where I consider that coaching is not appropriate for the circumstances or falls outside my professional competence.
Coaching is a collaborative process designed to help you reflect, gain clarity, explore possibilities, make decisions and work towards goals that are meaningful to you.
My approach may draw on coaching methods and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques. I am a Practitioner of NLP and a member of both the Association for NLP (ANLP) and the Association for Coaching (AC). I follow the applicable professional and ethical standards and codes of conduct of both organisations.
Coaching is not therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, medical treatment or a substitute for professional healthcare. Coaching is not intended to diagnose or treat mental health conditions or other medical conditions.
If I believe that coaching is not appropriate for your circumstances, I may recommend that you seek other professional support or that coaching is paused or ended.
Coaching works best when it is an active and collaborative process.
As a client or participant, you remain responsible for:
I will support and challenge you appropriately, but I cannot guarantee a particular result or outcome from coaching.
You are encouraged to be open and honest during sessions and to share information that you consider relevant to the coaching process.
Where actions or exercises are agreed between sessions, you decide whether and how to undertake them. You are not required to undertake anything that you do not feel comfortable with.
The arrangements for each coaching engagement will be agreed before coaching begins, including the applicable fee and payment arrangements.
For individual clients, payment may be required at the time of booking or before the coaching session, unless otherwise agreed.
For organisations, payment arrangements, invoicing and any purchase-order requirements will be agreed with the organisation in advance.
All fees will be communicated clearly before you commit to the service.
Where applicable, prices shown on the website may be subject to change. Any change will not affect a service that has already been booked and agreed at a particular price.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a coaching session, please provide at least 48 hours' notice.
Where less than 48 hours' notice is given, or where a session is missed without notice, the session may be charged in full. Exceptions may be made in genuine emergencies or exceptional circumstances.
If I need to cancel or reschedule a session, I will provide as much notice as reasonably possible and offer an alternative appointment. Where appropriate, I will provide a replacement session at no additional charge.
Different cancellation arrangements may apply where they have been specifically agreed in writing with an organisation.
Nothing in this section affects any cancellation rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
Online coaching sessions may be provided using platforms such as Microsoft Teams or another agreed online platform.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have a suitable environment, internet connection and equipment for an online session and that you can participate privately and without unnecessary interruption.
For in-person coaching, the location will be agreed in advance. Where coaching takes place in a public location, such as a café or outdoor setting, both parties should take reasonable steps to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
If circumstances outside either party's reasonable control prevent a session from taking place, we will work together to rearrange it where reasonably possible.
I understand the importance of creating a safe and confidential space for coaching and will treat information shared during coaching as confidential.
However, confidentiality is not absolute. Information may need to be disclosed where:
Personal information is handled in accordance with my Privacy & Cookie Policy, which explains what information I collect, how I use it, how it is stored and your rights in relation to your personal data.
Where an organisation commissions or pays for coaching, the organisation and the individual receiving coaching may have different roles.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the content of individual coaching conversations remains confidential to the client.
The organisation may receive limited administrative information that is necessary to manage the coaching arrangement, such as whether sessions have taken place, scheduling information or agreed practical arrangements.
I will not normally share the content of coaching conversations, personal disclosures or specific information discussed during sessions with an organisation without the client's consent, except where disclosure is required or permitted under the confidentiality provisions above.
Where an organisation requests feedback or reporting, the nature and limits of that information will be agreed in advance. Where appropriate, feedback will be provided in an anonymised or aggregated form.
For group and team coaching, confidentiality will also be encouraged and explained to participants. However, I cannot guarantee that information shared by one participant will remain confidential if another participant chooses to disclose it outside the session.
I aim to provide coaching in a respectful, inclusive and non-judgemental environment.
You should let me know if there is anything that may affect your ability to participate safely or effectively in coaching.
I may pause or end a coaching session or coaching relationship if I consider that continuing would not be appropriate or safe, or if the work falls outside my professional competence.
Where appropriate, I may recommend that you seek support from another suitably qualified professional.
The content of the Open Gate Coaching website, including text, images, graphics, branding and other materials, belongs to Open Gate Coaching or is used with permission.
You may access and use the website for your personal or organisational information and for considering or using Open Gate Coaching services.
You must not reproduce, modify, distribute or commercially use website content without my prior written permission, unless permitted by law.
Any coaching resources or materials provided to clients or organisations are for the intended recipient's use and must not be reproduced, distributed or commercially exploited without permission.
I will provide my services with reasonable care and skill.
Coaching involves personal reflection, decision-making and action, and I cannot guarantee any particular outcome. You remain responsible for your own decisions and actions and for how you apply anything discussed during coaching.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by law, I am not responsible for losses arising from circumstances outside my reasonable control or from decisions or actions taken by you or others based on information or insights arising from coaching.
Either you or I may decide to end an individual coaching relationship.
Where possible, I encourage this to be discussed openly so that the coaching relationship can be concluded appropriately.
For organisation-funded coaching, the arrangements for ending the engagement may be set out in the agreement with the organisation.
Any outstanding fees for services already provided remain payable.
I hope that you will feel able to raise any concern with me directly so that I have an opportunity to understand and address it.
If you wish to make a formal complaint, please contact me directly at: charlotte.labalette@opengatecoaching.co.uk. I will consider your complaint fairly and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
I update these Terms & Conditions regularly, for example to reflect changes to my services or legal requirements.
The version in force at the time you book a service will normally apply to that service, unless a different arrangement has been agreed in writing.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
